MY STORY
Jodie Bell
MHE
AND
ME
My name is Jodie Bell. I am aged 14 from Perth (Scotland).
When I was born I was diagnosed with MHE.  I am the only one in my family and area with MHE.

I go to Perth Academy and I am in secondary 3 (S3), which would be grade ten or year ten.  I have my own laptop to help with schoolwork. I also have Support for Learning Assistants (SLA's) to scribe for me, and take me to every class. I also get a taxi to school and use the school lift instead of the stairs.

My favourite subjects are biology, PC passport (computing) and hospitality (cooking).  I don't like maths, English or French. I support St. Johnstone football club and Celtic football club.
My doctor is Mr. MacLean from Perth Royal Infirmary. He has dealt with me since birth. I have had six or seven surgeries.  One on my shoulder blade that was to remove bone, one on my ankle to put in two screws, one on my leg where they removed bone, two on my eyes, one on my arm where they broke the two bones in my arm and placed a rod from my elbow to wrist and a plate with ten pins holding the plate in. They did this to straighten the arm and give me more rotation at the wrist.
I would like to thank the following people for being
there for me through the good and bad times.
Thank you:

My Mum and Dad
Mr. MacLean
Friends and Family
Mrs. McCarra (contact teacher - Support for Learning Teacher) and all of the Support For Learning Assistants
